Conquering Catastrophes, Calamities, and the Coronavirus!

June 13 and 14, Ascension will begin a new sermon series on the Old Testament Book of Jeremiah as we see how the Lord makes it possible to conquer not just COVID-19, but other bad stuff too! Pastor Clark will be sharing some insights he gained from his most recent Doctor of Ministry class which dealt with the Old Testament Book of Jeremiah. Often called “The Weeping Prophet,” God still works through Jeremiah to equip us to conquer! Romans 8:37, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Ascension is having a virtual VBS this year from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31. The week will consist of web-based events and family managed activities. Ascension will provide all the resources and materials you need for the week. We will have a supply pick-up day on Sunday, July 26, at Ascension Lutheran Church from 10 am to 2 pm, 5347 Donovan Ave. We will send out a reminder message a few days in advance.

Since we were not able to have our annual trivia night to raise money, we are short of funds to host a VBS. Please prayerfully consider making a monetary donation to this year’s virtual VBS. Please send your donation to the church office labeled VBS 2020. Thank you in advance for your prayers and your donation. The VBS team is thankful for the support from Ascension for our VBS ministry and we cannot wait to have another successful VBS!

Capital Campaign Updates

Jun 14, 2020 by     Comments Off on Capital Campaign Updates    Posted under: Uncategorized

Ascension’s capital campaign “Sharing Christ’s Love” continues! Over the summer months, many improvements to our church and school facilities are planned including: new exterior doors at Ascension, new exterior and interior signs at Word of Life, touchless toilets, sinks, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers in the restrooms. Thank you for your continued support of this important care of our facilities for the sake of sharing Christ!

Donations can be made using a designated gift envelope or a plain envelope; be sure to clearly mark “Capital Campaign” on the envelope. The envelope can be placed in the offering basket or in the locked wooden box on the shelf in the narthex. There are yellow-bordered envelopes in the offering envelope boxes that can be used for Capital Campaign contributions. Thank you for your participation!
